18:42 — STATE OF PLAY: Irons’ Summer Recruitment

Attacking reinforcement: Jhon Durán (Aston Villa) loan move confirmed pending final details. Midfield depth: Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice) €35m deal at advanced stage. Fullback: Nayef Aguerd injury prompting left-back search. Departures: Jarrod Bowen contract extension talks ongoing; no movement expected soon.

16:55 — West Ham hold firm on Todibo loan stance

West Ham hold firm on Todibo loan stance

West Ham United are refusing to sanction a loan exit for Jean-Clair Todibo, holding out instead for a permanent sale, according to a report from Claret & Hugh.

The French centre-back was left out of Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad for this week’s behind-closed-doors win over Colchester United. Having paid around £35m to sign Todibo from Nice, the Hammers want to recoup a meaningful fee rather than let his value drift on another loan. Marseille and Fenerbahçe have both been linked, but neither has tabled a permanent offer.

12:05 — West Ham knock back Roma’s opening £34m Summerville bid

West Ham have formally rejected Roma’s opening £34million offer for Crysencio Summerville, with the proposal well short of the winger’s £40m release clause, sources close to the club say. The bid has been described in east London as a “non-starter.”

The gap covers both fee and wages: West Ham want the release clause paid in full or a package worth north of £40m if structured in instalments, while Roma have so far been unwilling to go beyond roughly £35m-£40m, according to journalist Jacopo Aliprandi. Personal terms are also apart, with Roma reportedly keen to keep Summerville’s salary below €4m a season against the winger’s demands closer to £100,000 a week.

Full story: West Ham right to reject Roma’s £34m Summerville offer

11:50 — Aston Villa weigh Diouf move as Alvarez and Bowen sagas rumble on

Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move for El Hadji Malick Diouf as a replacement for Lucas Digne, who is expected to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain after PSG triggered a release clause worth under £10m, according to Hammers News. It’s a single-source line for now — West Ham have given no signal they’re ready to sell, and Nuno Espírito Santo has little incentive to lose a first-choice left wing-back before the Championship season starts.

Elsewhere, FC Köln director of football Thomas Kessler said the Bundesliga club “will certainly make some moves in central midfield” this summer, stopping short of naming Edson Álvarez but keeping West Ham’s stalled loan interest alive — personal terms remain the sticking point. And Danny Dyer has again said he expects son-in-law Jarrod Bowen to stay at the London Stadium, telling talkSPORT: “I don’t think he’s going anywhere.”

06:52 — Wednesday state of play: where every Hammers saga stands

Quiet start to Wednesday in east London, but plenty still moving beneath the surface. Roma remain the leading suitors for Crysencio Summerville, though talks stalled on Tuesday with the Italian club refusing to move above roughly £34m and West Ham holding out for £43m-plus, according to Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio. Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa are also credited with background interest, though none have made a concrete move.

Recruitment director Nils Koppen continues to widen the net elsewhere, with Girona’s Kim Min-su and an unnamed Celtic trio the latest names to enter the picture, while interest in Palmeiras teenager Heittor, Denil Castillo, Bastien Meupiyou and Axel Disasi all remains live. Edson Alvarez’s proposed loan to Koln is still stuck on wages, James McAtee’s move to Nottingham Forest has hit a snag with Oliver Glasner wanting to assess him first, and Nuno Espirito Santo has knocked back Arsenal’s interest in Konstantinos Mavropanos. Jarrod Bowen looks set to stay, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains available for the right offer.

Nothing has been signed since last weekend’s club-record £85m Mateus Fernandes sale to Tottenham, which continues to fund the summer rebuild. Full recap: Talking Points & Facts – 14th July

22:30 — Tuesday wrap: Roma’s Summerville interest firms up, Koppen’s list takes shape

West Ham worked several fronts on Tuesday without landing a permanent deal. Roma’s interest in Crysencio Summerville grew more concrete after director-level talks in Rome, recruitment chief Nils Koppen’s summer shortlist became visible for the first time, and Nuno Espírito Santo put his squad through their first behind-closed-doors test of the window, beating Colchester 3-2 at Rush Green.

Nothing was signed or sealed, but the pieces are moving on multiple sagas at once. Full story: Talking Points & Facts – 14th July

22:15 — Hammers add Girona’s Kim Min-su to left-wing shortlist

West Ham have added Girona winger Kim Min-su to their list of options as Nuno Espírito Santo looks to freshen up his wide areas this summer. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at FC Andorra in Spain’s second tier, contributing to ten goals in 27 starts, and is regarded as one of Girona’s best academy talents.

No talks have started and it remains an early-stage look, but the move underlines how live the Summerville situation has become as West Ham weigh up cover on the left. Full story: West Ham add Kim Min-su to summer shortlist

19:15 — West Ham weighing up move for three Celtic players

West Ham are exploring moves for three Celtic players after missing out on an unnamed leading summer target, according to Claret & Hugh. Recruitment director Nils Koppen is understood to have recommended the trio as the Hammers look to accelerate their business.

The identities have not been disclosed, though one is reportedly Japanese, with creativity viewed as a priority area for Nuno Espirito Santo to strengthen. No formal bids have been submitted for any of the three.

13:50 — Summerville: Roma’s interest firms up, but no offer yet

Roma have stepped up their interest in Crysencio Summerville, adding another possible destination for the winger as Nuno Espirito Santo reshapes his squad, per Gianluca Di Marzio. Summerville’s representatives are in Rome and could meet Roma’s directors in the coming days, though Di Marzio’s report stops short of confirming any bid has been lodged with West Ham.

Roma are said to be assessing several wide options alongside Summerville, including Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho, with proposals already tabled for other targets. Manchester United remain in the picture too, having opened talks over a possible £50m deal earlier this month.

11:45 — Summerville: Roma hold agent talks, but valuations still apart

Roma have now sat down with representatives for Crysencio Summerville, according to Fabrizio Romano, as the Serie A club press on with their interest in the West Ham winger after a concrete approach was confirmed earlier on Tuesday.

Italian reporter Alfredo Pedullà says the meeting lasted roughly an hour, with Roma reiterating genuine admiration for the 24-year-old but only at a valuation capped well below West Ham’s demands — a fee nearer £35m and wages around £3.5m a year, some way short of the figure north of £40m that West Ham are believed to want. Romano reports the Hammers’ asking price is closer to £50m once add-ons are factored in.

Roma are said to be hoping for a response from Summerville’s camp before the evening. Nothing is close, but talks are live and moving — this one will run.

08:05 — Tuesday state of play: Alvarez loan still stuck on wages

West Ham’s two-track summer continues, as Monday’s Talking Points laid out. The Edson Alvarez loan to Koln remains stalled over wages, while the Hammers stood firm on Mavropanos despite Arsenal’s interest.

The club continue to weigh a move for Palmeiras striker Heittor as they look to turn last week’s £85m windfall into a squad capable of an immediate promotion push.

22:30 — Talking Points: turning an £85m windfall into a promotion squad

West Ham are trying to solve two problems at once, Monday’s Talking Points notes: turning Sarr’s £85m sale into a Championship-ready squad, and convincing key players staying is worth it. Monday brought movement on both fronts — firm interest in Palmeiras striker Heittor, a stand taken over Mavropanos amid Arsenal interest, and the Alvarez loan complications above.

22:10 — Alvarez loan to Koln at risk as wage dispute drags on

Edson Alvarez’s proposed loan move from West Ham to FC Koln is at risk, with the two clubs unable to agree how his salary will be split for the season. The Mexico international had been expected to leave on loan as Nuno Espirito Santo trims his midfield options.

21:15 — Quiet finish to the day as Hammers regroup before pre-season opener

Monday’s business winds down without a fresh bid or breakthrough to report beyond this afternoon’s Mavropanos and Heittor lines. Nuno Espirito Santo’s priority remains adding a body in central midfield, with James McAtee and Axel Disasi both still live conversations rather than advanced deals.

Focus now shifts to the club’s pre-season opener this weekend, with the takeaway from today’s rebuild assessment still the same: the £85m Fernandes windfall is sitting there to be spent, but West Ham are yet to land the marquee arrival to match it.

18:38 — West Ham stand firm on Mavropanos despite Arsenal interest

West Ham have told Konstantinos Mavropanos that they expect him to remain at the club this summer, despite reported interest from Arsenal in the centre-back.

17:15 — State of the rebuild: cash to spend, business still to complete

West Ham go into the week with the strongest financial position in the Championship after the £85m sale of Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham, but the first major addition of the summer is still to arrive. Keiber Lamadrid’s move has now been made permanent, though Nuno Espírito Santo is still waiting on further reinforcements to reshape the squad.

11:45 — Castillo, Meupiyou and Disasi latest as rebuild widens

West Ham have added three fresh names to their Championship rebuild search. Ecuadorian outlet El Diario links the Hammers with midfielder Denil Castillo, alongside continued interest in a French centre-back and last season’s most consistent defender, as West Ham hunt reinforcements after selling Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham and losing Callum Wilson on a free.

11:00 — Danny Dyer’s biggest Bowen hint yet

Danny Dyer has given West Ham fans their strongest indication yet that Jarrod Bowen will stay and lead the promotion push, telling talkSPORT at a charity event: “I don’t think he’s going anywhere.” Bowen has been linked with several Premier League sides this summer, including Aston Villa.

09:58 — McAtee setback as Forest’s Glasner wants to assess him

West Ham may need to wait on James McAtee after the midfielder opted to fight for his place under new Nottingham Forest boss Oliver Glasner. Football Insider reports Glasner wants to assess the 23-year-old in pre-season, with McAtee also keen to prove himself at the City Ground after a tough first season following his move from Manchester City.

Michail Antonio’s frank comments on how his West Ham exit was handled have raised fresh questions about the club’s leadership. 10:10 — Hammers make contact for MLS star Evander in transfer policy shift

West Ham have made contact over a move for FC Cincinnati’s Evander, a departure from their usual recruitment approach. The Brazilian managed 22 goals and 17 assists in 43 games last season, and while Napoli have also been offered the player, his €2.5m wage demand is understood to be a bigger issue for the Italian club than for West Ham.
