West Ham United Women have completed the signing of England forward Ebony Salmon on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old joins as a free agent after leaving Aston Villa at the end of last season.
West Ham confirmed the deal on Friday, with Salmon becoming Rita Guarino’s seventh signing of the summer. She will wear the No.17 shirt in east London.
BBC Sport’s Emma Sanders also reported the two-year agreement, with Salmon arriving after making 75 appearances for Villa.
Salmon brings WSL and international experience to West Ham’s attack. She has four England caps and has also played for Bristol City, Manchester United, Sheffield United, Racing Louisville and Houston Dash.
ReadWestHam covered Niamh Peacock’s move from Arsenal earlier this week, and Salmon’s arrival continues a clear attacking rebuild under Guarino.
Guarino Adds Proven WSL Forward
Salmon gives West Ham a forward who already knows the league.
She can play through the middle or drift wide, which should suit a team trying to add more pace and movement in the final third.
Her arrival follows Peacock’s signing and the earlier deal for England youth midfielder Sienna Wareing. West Ham have moved quickly after finishing third from bottom in the WSL last season.
ReadWestHam also covered Wareing’s arrival as part of Guarino’s summer reset, and the pattern is now clear.
West Ham are adding younger, mobile players with room to grow. Salmon fits that plan, but she also brings senior experience.
Supporters should get a first look when pre-season begins later this month.
