West Ham supporters will join Luděk Mikloško’s family and former team-mates in remembering the goalkeeper before Friday’s Championship meeting with QPR.
The fixture at London Stadium will honour Mikloško, who died last month aged 64 and represented both clubs during his playing career.
West Ham are inviting fans to take part in the tributes, with a pre-match ceremony involving his family and selected former team-mates.
According to today’s report on AOL, the plans also include supporter displays in two stands, a video on the stadium screens and a commemorative match programme.
West Ham and QPR supporters to remember Mikloško
Mikloško made 373 appearances for West Ham between 1990 and 1998, establishing a connection with supporters that endured long after his final appearance.
He helped the Hammers win promotion in 1991 and 1993 and received the Hammer of the Year award in 1991.
His move to QPR in 1998 gives Friday’s occasion particular significance for both sets of supporters. He subsequently returned to West Ham as a goalkeeping coach after retiring from playing.
Our tribute to Mikloško looks back at his career and the affection he inspired across generations of Hammers fans.
Friday’s match kicks off at 8pm BST. Supporters wishing to see the ceremony should plan to be in their seats before kick-off, with the club’s official announcement the place to check for further arrangements.
