  • West Ham beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 on Friday night
  • The win takes the Hammers out of the Premier League bottom three
  • Konstantinos Mavropanos and Valentin Castellanos scored the goals for West Ham

West Ham United secured a huge win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night, leaving the London Stadium as 4-0 victors. Goals from Konstantinos Mavropanos and Valentin Castellanos secured the three points for Nuno Espirito Santo’s Hammers.

Axel Disasi, who partnered Mavropanos is central defence, told the club’s official website of his pride for the team and their performance.

“Today we are happy, and the fans are happy as well which is great,” Disasi said. “My Auntie [who is a West Ham fan] is proud – she messaged me after my goal last week, and she’s following us with a lot of support!

“We knew we needed to win tonight, and we did what we had to do, so I’m very happy. I think we deserved it. They (Wolves) started the game very well, so we had to be patient and wait for our moment, but I think after the first goal the game became more open. In the second half we stuck together and got our reward, so everyone is happy.

“He (Mavropanos) is in a great moment, and I’m very happy for him. He’s a great guy and he deserves it. Taty has been waiting for his goals, and Pablo as well, who made a great assist. Malick [Diouf] did a great job as well – he’s like a little brother to me and we laugh a lot!

“We’re happy for them all, because we need goals to achieve our mission. Tonight everyone is happy and we’re going to keep pushing and supporting everyone to keep building our confidence.”

Focus remains on the next six for West Ham

Despite the emphatic win, Disasi confirmed that all focus is on the next six games for West Ham as they look to stay in the Premier League.

“There are six games to go, and now every match is a mission. The fans know, and the team knows. Everyone knows our mission.

“We have to stay together and play like we played tonight to achieve our goals step-by-step. Tonight we did the job, so let’s move on and keep going like this.”
