West Ham’s Manor Solomon reportedly misses final Israel training as fitness questions grow

Manor Solomon reportedly missed Israel’s final training session before their Republic of Ireland fixture through illness, raising a fresh fitness question for West Ham.

Israel Sport’s correspondent in Serbia reported on Saturday that Solomon and defender Raz Shlomo remained at the team hotel rather than joining the session.

The report said efforts were continuing to prepare both players for Sunday’s match. It did not confirm that Solomon would miss the game.

The training absence follows separate reporting about the winger’s back.

Sport Witness relayed reports on Saturday morning that Solomon was doubtful because of back pain and faced further assessment. Walla also reported that he had finished the Kosovo match with discomfort.

The later Israel Sport report identifies illness as the reason for his absence from final training. It does not clarify whether the earlier back complaint has resolved.

For West Ham, the important distinction is that neither report establishes his availability for Friday’s Championship meeting with QPR.

Nuno Espírito Santo therefore has a fitness situation to follow, rather than a confirmed absence to plan around.

Sunday’s Israel team selection should provide the next indication of Solomon’s immediate availability. A place in the squad, however, would not by itself establish that he is fully fit.

His international involvement sits within the wider West Ham international-break schedule as players prepare to return to club football.
