West Ham have officially come out and put an end to a couple of the rumours linking them with moves for other players, via the ‘Boleyn Insider‘.
The club have said that they will not be making a move for Burak Yilmaz from Galatasaray or Besiktas’ Olcay Sahan this summer.
They did confirm that they have interest in PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye, but believe the Ligue 1 champions won’t be interested in parting ways with the Frenchman.
Also, they stated that the club are ‘considering [making] a multi-million pound offer for an African international who has the potential to go on and become one of the best players in Europe‘.
That comes shortly after David Sullivan confirmed the club have ‘not given up’ on signing Alex Song on a permanent basis from Barcelona, while also holding interest in bringing Demba Ba back to the club, as well as signing Hull striker Dame N’Doye and Guingamp forward Claudio Beauvue.
More player news, as they state the Hammers have ‘increased their bid for a current French international and remain hopeful they will clinch his signature‘.
Today, Ligue 1’s top assister, Marseille’s Dimitri Payet, has been linked with the club, as well as leading Tottenham and Newcastle in the race to sign M’Baye Niang from AC Milan.
West Ham are also said to have made an £8m bid for Chelsea striker Loic Remy, while Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac is in talks with the club.
