West Ham have not given up on signing Alex Song from Barcelona, says Co-Owner David Sullivan.
The Cameroonian has returned to Barcelona following the end of his season-long loan from Barcelona, but is widely tipped to leave on a permanent basis this summer.
“I can assure you we have not given up on Alex Song yet,” said Sullivan.
“Before Christmas Alex was outstanding and if we believe we can get him back to that sort of form and maybe with a new manager we can, we would very much like Alex to come.
“We are very thin on the ground with midfielders. You get injuries and you need back-up.”
It’s claimed that Song is holding out for a big move, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City interested.
The Telegraph are now reporting that a £5m deal is on the table.
