- Chelsea have declared their interest in a trio of West Ham players
- Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville are on the Blues list
- A move is only likely to materialise if the Hammers are relegated
West Ham United are doing their best to stay in the Premier League this season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team took a huge step in the right direction on Friday night, beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 at the London Stadium.
The three points takes West Ham out of the bottom three, putting Tottenham Hotspur in it. Whilst survival is now in their own hands, their remains a long way to go for the Hammers, with six league games to go this season.
Since January, almost every Iron’s player has stepped up to help them out of the bottom three. Whilst loanee Axel Disasi takes a lot of the headlines, Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville have all contributed sincere amounts.
Unsurprisingly, the trio’s performances have led to transfer interest, amplified by West Ham‘s precarious position in the league. Now a new side has entered the race for all three players, hoping to pounce if the Hammers fall through the trap door.
Chelsea declare interest in West Ham trio
According to Si Phillips, Chelsea have declared their interest in West Ham’s Bowen, Fernandes and Summerville. The catch being, the Blues will likely only make the move if the Hammers are relegated.
Nuno’s men will have to sell this summer but are likely to drive a hard bargain for their stars if they can keep their Premier League status. Captain Bowen is one player that will only be in the shop window if the Hammers are a Championship team come June.
Summerville and Fernandes have been touted for moves for some while but will cost. Fernandes only joined West Ham in August but has gone on to be one of the team’s best players, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United keeping tabs on the midfielder.
Dutchman Summerville is enjoying his best Premier League season to date and it seems unlikely he would play in the Championship again. Relegation rivals Spurs remain interested as do a host of other top flight teams.
