West Ham receive two Magassa offers as Sevilla and Bologna battle for deal

West Ham United have received concrete offers from Sevilla and Bologna for Soungoutou Magassa as the midfielder moves closer to leaving before the transfer deadline.

Both clubs have proposed paid loan deals containing obligations to buy, a structure West Ham are reportedly prepared to accept as their major summer squad overhaul continues.

Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis reports that Sevilla and Bologna have now made firm proposals, while Magassa is considering which project best suits him.

The development represents significant progression in Magassa’s situation.

West Ham were previously dealing with interest from several clubs, including Crystal Palace, but there had been no certainty that the 22-year-old would leave before the window closed.

ReadWestHam reported earlier this week that Crystal Palace had placed Magassa on their midfield shortlist, although their interest had not produced an agreement.

The picture has now changed.

Foot Mercato says both Sevilla and Bologna have made formal offers, with West Ham particularly receptive to the loan-plus-obligation structure because it reduces the wage bill while guaranteeing future transfer income.

RB Leipzig and Lille have also made enquiries but have not progressed their interest to the same stage.

Magassa has yet to feature in the Championship this season under Nuno Espírito Santo, despite making 26 appearances in all competitions during his first campaign in England.

That absence has increasingly pointed towards a departure.

West Ham’s midfield has already undergone considerable change, with James Ward-Prowse returning to Southampton and Arne Engels among the additions available to Nuno.

The wider squad has also been transformed, with West Ham’s rebuild accelerating following Malick Diouf’s £40m departure.

Magassa could now become another major departure before the deadline.

No final destination has been agreed yet, but with two acceptable proposals now on the table, the decision increasingly appears to rest on which move the midfielder prefers.
