- Manchester United target West Ham defender, El Hadji Malick Diouf
- The 21-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer
- Diouf has five assists this season
West Ham United are deep into a relegation fight in the Premier League this season. The Hammers beat Everton last weekend, taking them to two points above the drop zone and this weekend, the team heads to Brentford.
Since the turn of 2026, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have been on a resurgent roll. A side that looked doomed at the beginning of January is now performing very well and is firmly in control of it’s top flight future.
Of course, with good form, comes interest in West Ham‘s players. The likes of Mateus Fernandes and Konstantinos Mavropanos are both being tipped for moves this summer and the Hammers will do well to keep hold of them. Now, a side that looks set to play in the Champions League next season, is after one of the Iron’s defenders.
Manchester United target West Ham’s El Hadji Malick Diouf
According to the Guardian, Manchester United are targeting a move for West Ham defender, El Hadji Malick Diouf.
The Red Devils are in the market for a left-back and believe the Senegal international could fit the right profile for the team. Luke Shaw is the team’s current first-choice option and United want to bring in some competition for the 30-year-old.
Diouf joined the Hammers in the summer of 2025 from Slavia Prague and was initially signed to play wing-back. After Graham Potter left the club, Nuno reverted to back four, with Diouf slipping in at left-back.
In the revolution since then, the 21-year-old has impressed with his tackling in difficult situations and crossing ability going forward. Diouf has become a big part of the Hammers team, with interest an inevitable factor.
