- West Ham went unbeaten in the month of April
- Nuno Espirito Santo has been nominated for Manager of the Month
- Jarrod Bowen and Konstantinos Mavropanos have both been nominated for Player of the Month
West Ham United’s form in the Premier League relegation fight has been rewarded, with three Hammers personnel being nominated for awards in the month of April. West Ham beat Everton 2-1 last weekend, meaning the Irons claimed seven league points in the month.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been nominated for Manager of the Month after orchestrating the Hammers turnaround. He joins a group that includes Daniel Farke, Pep Guardiola, Fabian Hurzeler, Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola and Vitor Pereira.
Jarrod Bowen and Konstantinos Mavropanos have been nominated for Player of the Month in April. The West Ham duo have been among the best performers in the team and are rightly up for the award.
Captain Bowen has four assists this month and has helped to create many more opportunities going forward for the team.
Mavropanos has been like a brick wall at the back in his partnership with Axel Disasi. The 28-year-old has helped the Hammers to two clean sheets this month, along with netting two goals in the 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The duo are nominated alongside Morgan Gibbs-White, Rayan Cherki, Nico O’Reilly, Pascal Gross, Noah Okafor and Alex Scott.
West Ham’s unbeaten April
West Ham went unbeaten in the month of April, picking up seven points in the process.
After narrowly dipping out of the FA Cup on penalties to Leeds United to start the month, the Hammers turned to the task in hand. Staying in the Premier League.
Up first came Wolves, who the team calmly dismantled 4-0 at the London Stadium. Then came a tricky trip across London, to face Crystal Palace. The Irons could have won the game, put coming away with a point was still a move in the right direction.
To round out the month, Everton came to visit. Tomas Soucek gave the hosts a lead but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall would peg them back. Callum Wilson popped up with the winner in stoppage time to keep West Ham out of the bottom three.
