  • PSG are interested in West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes
  • The French side have made contact over a summer move
  • Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested

West Ham United have all hands on deck this season as they look to stay in the Premier League. A 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday has seen the Hammers move to two points above the bottom three, but there is still a long way to go before safety can be confirmed.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have seen a significant turnaround since the end of January. A team that once looked doomed is now on an upward trajectory. West Ham now control their own destiny in terms of top flight survival, something that looked a pipe dream at the start of 2026.

What comes with the team’s performances, comes interest in their players and the Hammers are no exception. The club will have to sell some players this summer, regardless of the division they are in, leading to the vultures circling around some of their best.

One of the top names on that list is Mateus Fernandes. The 21-year-old joined from Southampton last summer and has been a revelation. A number of big teams are already after the midfielder, with a new footballing giant joining the chase.

PSG make contact with over move for Mateus Fernandes

According to Foot Mercarto, French side Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with West Ham over a move for Fernandes this summer.

The report states that the Parisians have reached out to both the Hammers and Fernandes’s own agency looking to jump the gun and get things moving over a move at the end of the season. PSG already have two Portugal international in their midfield, Vitinha and Joao Neves, and feel Fernandes would be the perfect addition to the group.

Fernandes has featured 33 times for the Irons this season, being one of the team’s best performers and looks set for a move to bigger things no matter where the club end up. The 20-year-old made his Portugal debut this season and more international caps are said to be a priority for him, something being in the Champions League can get you.
