  • West Ham beat Everton 2-1 to stay out of the bottom three
  • Tottenham Hotspur beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 to stay in touching distance of the Hammers
  • Nottingham Forest beat Sunderland 5-0

West Ham United beat Everton 2-1 on Saturday. Goals from Tomas Soucek and Callum Wilson guided the Hammers to three points that keeps them out for the bottom three and on a good run of form.

Nuno Epsirito Santo’s team keep answering the questions asked of them and remain two points above Tottenham Hotspur, going into a game against Brentford this weekend.

Spurs finally got their first Premier League win of 2026 as Joao Palhinha netted the only goal to see them past Wolverhampton Wanderers. It wasn’t all good for Spurs as they lost both Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons to injury as they say two points below West Ham.

Nottingham Forest continued their impressive run by dismantling Sunderland on Friday night. Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson and Igor Jesus all netted for Vitor Pereira’s team as they move onto 39 points, three above the Hammers.

Above them, Leeds United did not play this weekend as they faced Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final. The Lilywhites would fall short, losing 1-0 thanks to an Enzo Fernandes goal at Wembley.

In 14th, Newcastle United lost their fourth straight game, falling to a 1-0 loss to title chasing Arsenal. Ebrechi Eze scored early on for the Gunners in a win that sees them return to the top of the Premier League table.

Newcastle are on 42 points as it stands, but are far from safe this season.

The bottom two

Burnley did not play this weekend but did put up a valiant fight against Manchester City in midweek. An Erling Haaland goal was enough for the away side but it wasn’t an easy win for the title chasing side.

Wolves would lose to Spurs, but also made it difficult for the away side. They could not do West Ham a favour and stop their relegation rivals but did stop them form raising their goal difference.
