- West Ham take on Brentford on Saturday afternoon
- A win could take the Hammers five points above the Premier League’s bottom three
- Brentford are chasing Europe this season
West Ham United head to Brentford on Saturday afternoon looking for another three points in their Premier League survival fight. The Hammers are coming off a dramatic 2-1 win over Everton last weekend, but know their form cannot let up if they want to stay in the top flight this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are one of the form side’s in the Premier League, and they have had to be. Sat two points above the relegation zone, West Ham have won two of their last five games, going three games since their last loss.
Brentford are chasing European football this season, much like the Hammers last opponents Everton. Unfortunately for Keith Andrews team, their campaign has taken a stutter, going seven games without a win, losing their last match to Manchester United on Monday night.
Nuno’s Irons will look to get another on over a team chasing Europe this season, and extend the gap above Tottenham Hotspur to five points before they face Aston Villa on Sunday night.

Prediction
Here, a handful of our writers give their prediction for the game…
Matt Bottomley
“West Ham are looking like a really solid team, but no game in the Premier League is an easy one. Brentford’s form makes this look like one the Hammers can win, but makes all the more of a banana skin. The Irons can’t lose their determination, they have to stay patient and regimented if they want to leave the Gtech Community Stadium with three points.
“Keith Andrews team may have punched above their weight this season and felt some blows over the last month. If anything that makes them all the more dangerous, with the side looking to put things right at the expense of the Hammers.
“I think West Ham will put on another good showing but I also think Brentford will bounce back and I have this one as draw.”
Prediction: Brentford 1-1 West Ham
