West Ham are tracking the progress of promising Leeds United youngsters Lewis Cook and Sam Byram, confirms Martyn Glover.
Former Head of Recruitment at West Ham Glover has recently taken up a similar role at Leeds, and confirms in an interview that the Hammers are tracking the young stars.
“Particularly with people like Sam Bryam and Lewis Cook, we [West Ham] were quite strong on and watched a lot of them last season.
“It will be nice to hopefully develop these players now I am here.
“Leeds have always produced good young players and that’s testament to the club and the academy here and the way they have done things in the past.”
It was also reported earlier in the season that West Ham were tracking another Leeds starlet, midfielder Alex Mowatt.
All three players have come through the Leeds academy, and have been tipped to play in the Premier League sooner rather than later.
