West Ham have had scouts watch Leeds United starlet Alex Mowatt several times in recent weeks ahead of making a summer move for the player, according to the Sun.
It was revealed the Hammers sent scouts to Leeds’ game against Wigan this weekend to watch Mowatt, along with fellow budding stars Sam Byram and Lewis Cook.
20-year-old Mowatt netted against Wigan during yet another impressive performance, with West Ham seriously considering making a bid to sign the young English midfielder.
West Ham are expected to see both Alex Song and Kevin Nolan leave the club in the summer, and would be in desperate need of some numbers in midfield, and the promising Mowatt would be a welcome addition.
