Genoa have rejected a bid from West Ham for winger Diego Perotti, according to a report in HITC.
The Hammers had reportedly offered €8m (£5.8m) for the 26-year-old, who scored five goals and recorded four assists last season in Serie A.
It was reported last week that West Ham were showing interest in the Argentine, who has dual nationality with Spain, and would therefore not require a work permit, which would make any possible deal go through that much quicker.
Genoa signed Perotti from Sevilla last summer in a £300,000 deal following an injury-plagued time in Spain, and was a key part to their impressive season which saw them finish in sixth place.
MORE: There have also been breaking developments in the deal to sign Dimitri Payet from Marseille, as the Hammers are given a major boost in their efforts.
