West Ham have joined the race to sign highly-rated Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk, according to reports.
The Hammers, as well as Arsenal and Crystal Palace, have been watching the 23-year-old centre-back this season, and are preparing a summer bid for the player.
Being a key player in Celtic’s domestic dominance again this season, the £10m-rated player is being urged to snub the Premier League, by manager Ronny Deila.
“I want to keep him, he is such an important player for us, he is a very good footballer, but we can make him better. “If everyone improves the league will be better next season. We were very consistent though.” Deila said in a press conference.
The Dutchman would be pushing for a starting position should he leave the Scottish champions, which might be hard to come by at West Ham with James Tomkins and Winston Reid in-house.
