Hammers Boosted In Hernandez Race

West Ham have been handed a major boost in their efforts to sign Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez in the summer.

The Telegraph are reporting that the 26-year-old will reject the advances of MLS outfit Orlando City in order to continue his playing career in Europe.

The Mexican has spent this season on loan at Spanish giants Real Madrid, but has failed to make an impact and will not be making his loan permanent next season.

Hernandez was an integral part of United’s success during the latter years of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at Old Trafford, with his knack for coming up with clutch goals highly praised.

Southampton and Valencia are also very interested in signing Hernandez, who is not wanted at United by Louis Van Gaal next season, who’s looking to cash-in on him with only a year to go on his contract.

It’s said that a fee of £8m will be required to sign Hernandez, which for a player of proven Premier League quality and can score goals for fun, is a very reasonable price.
