Crysencio Summerville’s personal trainer says the winger spoke with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain before leaving West Ham for Al Hilal this summer.
Ivandro Monteiro has named several European clubs he says contacted the Netherlands international before his move to Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to ESPN, in comments reported by Hammers News, Monteiro recalled Summerville telling him about the interest.
“Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, AS Roma, Liverpool, Manchester United, all clubs that had spoken to him,” he said.
Monteiro is Summerville’s personal trainer. His account describes conversations relayed by the player and does not establish that those clubs submitted formal bids to West Ham.
Summerville chose Al Hilal after West Ham exit talks
West Ham confirmed Summerville’s permanent departure on 24 July, ending a two-year spell that produced eight goals in 56 appearances.
The winger joined from Leeds United in August 2024 and became a senior Netherlands international during his time in east London.
Al Hilal announced a four-year contract and confirmed he had joined their training camp in Austria.
Monteiro said he initially advised Summerville to wait and assess his options before encouraging him to accept Al Hilal’s proposal when it arrived.
The comments add another layer to the story of his departure, revealing the European alternatives his trainer says were discussed before the Saudi move was completed.
