West Ham are closely monitoring the situation at Serie A side as a number of players could be set to become free agents should the club’s financial crisis worsens.
Reports suggest that the Hammers could make a play for winger Jonathan Biabiany, should he become a free agent in the coming days.
Club vehicles along with other assets were seized by the Italian version of the Inland Revenue due to unpaid taxes.
No club employee has received their wages since July 2014 either, and a recent home game against Udinese has been called off because the club doesn’t have the money to pay stewards or security staff at the Stadio Tardini.
One Parma player has already quit the club, striker Antonio Cassano left the club last month, and could be the first of many, including the Frenchman Biabiany.
The Hammers are not alone in the race to sign Biabiany, as AC Milan are understood to reignite their interest in the former Inter wide man.
Milan thought they signed Biabiany last summer, only for it to fall through at the last minute.
Having agreed a swap deal with Parma, seeing Milan defender Cristian Zaccardo leave in exchange for Biabiany, the 26-year-old agreed terms and was unveiled as a Milan player, before Zaccardo even agreed terms with Parma, which he never did, meaning Biabiany made the awkward return to Parma.
Should his contract be terminated if Parma get liquidated, Biabiany will be eligible to sign for another club and play for that club this season.
This would not be West Ham’s first foray into the free agent market this year, having picked up former PSG man Nene on a deal until the end of the season following the injury to Andy Carroll.
