West Ham want to make a splash in the upcoming summer transfer window, with a big-money move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku on the cards say the Daily Mail.
The Hammers were keen on signing the Belgian international when he left Chelsea, but he opted for a £28m move to Goodison Park last summer.
Tottenham are also keen on Lukaku, who recently said he would consider leaving the Toffees at the end of the season, even if an offer from former club Chelsea were to come in.
Sam Allardyce will fund a move for Lukaku by selling Enner Valencia to Chelsea for a reported £21m in the summer.
Lukaku will likely command a fee in excess of £30m and wages of around £60,000-a-week, and Valencia’s sale to Chelsea will go a long way to balancing the books.
Jose Mourinho is a fan of the Ecuadorian, who joined West Ham for £12m last summer from Mexican side Pachuca following an impressive World Cup, and failed with a bid to sign him in last month’s transfer window, but will return for him in the summer if he can offload Loic Remy.
