West Ham Plan Improved Mohamadou Kanté Contract After Breakthrough

West Ham United reportedly plan to reward Mohamadou Kanté with improved contract terms following his breakthrough into Nuno Espírito Santo’s first team.

According to Roshane Thomas of The Athletic, as relayed by West Ham Zone, the Hammers intend to offer the 21-year-old a better deal to reflect his growing standing within the squad.

The report says Kanté is already contracted until 2031, meaning West Ham are under no immediate pressure over his future.

Kanté Rewarded After West Ham Breakthrough

Kanté has emerged as one of West Ham’s most influential young players during the opening weeks of the Championship campaign.

The midfielder has scored three league goals this season, with West Ham’s official player profile documenting his rapid rise after joining from Paris FC in 2024.

His latest goal came during the 2-2 draw against Millwall, when Kanté struck from distance after coming on at half-time.

That performance ended with a red card, meaning he will miss West Ham’s first game after the international break against QPR.

West Ham nevertheless appear determined to recognise his increased first-team importance.

Kanté’s progress has helped Nuno’s side enter the break second in the division, with the latest position available in our West Ham Championship table guide.

The reported contract plans are another indication that Kanté is increasingly viewed as part of West Ham’s long-term first-team plans.
