West Ham trainee Dele Alli attracts fresh Monza interest

West Ham could face competition for Dele Alli after Italian club Monza emerged as a potential destination for the former England midfielder, who has been training with the Hammers this summer.

The 30-year-old remains without a club and has been working at Rush Green as he attempts to revive his career.

The Guardian reports that Monza are considering a move for Alli, potentially offering him another opportunity in Italian football.

West Ham have not announced a contract for the midfielder, meaning he remains free to explore other options.

Dele Alli could face choice between West Ham and Monza

ReadWestHam previously reported that Alli had started training with West Ham, with Nuno Espírito Santo given the opportunity to assess his fitness.

However, Monza’s reported interest introduces another possible route back into competitive football.

Alli’s previous spell in Italy ended after only one appearance for Como. Reuters reported that his contract was terminated by mutual agreement after a substitute appearance against AC Milan ended with a red card.

He has not played competitively since that match in March 2025, making his physical condition central to any decision from interested clubs.

At his best, Alli was among England’s most productive attacking midfielders. Tottenham’s official records confirm he scored 67 goals across 269 appearances during seven years with the north London club.

West Ham are assessing their midfield options as Nuno targets further additions across four positions.

Tomáš Souček’s injury has also reduced the manager’s available midfield options, although recent signing Divine Mukasa offers another creative alternative.

There is currently no confirmation that Monza have made an offer or that West Ham intend to hand Alli a contract.

Nevertheless, the Italian club’s reported interest could influence how long the former England international remains available to Nuno.
