West Ham United Women have signed England Under-19 midfielder Sienna Wareing following her departure from Manchester United.
West Ham confirmed that the 18-year-old has signed her first professional contract, with the deal running until the summer of 2029.
Wareing becomes Rita Guarino’s fifth signing of the summer and will wear the No19 shirt in east London.
She spent seven years at Manchester United and arrives after a strong 2025/26 campaign. Manchester United named Wareing their Academy Under-21 Player of the Year after she helped the club win the Professional Game Academy Plate.
Wareing Adds Another Young Option For Guarino
Wareing gives West Ham another young midfielder with clear development upside.
She started her football journey with Mill Hill Juniors, later spent three years at Blackburn Rovers, then joined Manchester United after a successful trial.
Her final season at United brought important progress. West Ham’s announcement stated that Wareing scored the winning goal and produced a Player of the Match display against Durham in the PGA Plate final.
She also gained senior experience through six appearances for Liverpool Feds on a dual registration deal.
Wareing’s international profile has grown too. She received her first England Under-19 call-up in April and made three appearances during the 2026 UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championship qualification campaign.
Guarino described her as a creative midfielder who can “make things happen in the final third”.
For West Ham, this is a long-term signing rather than a short-term fix. Wareing arrives with academy pedigree, England youth recognition and a four-year contract.
The next step is turning that potential into WSL minutes.
