West Ham coach hints at U-turn after phone call with manager
  • West Ham are preparing for life in the Championship
  • Nuno Espirito Santo will stay at the club next season
  • Their is hope that Paco Jemez will also remain with the Hammers next season

West Ham United are attempting to prepare for life in the Championship next season. The Hammers need to get their house in order to do so, something that is proving harder than ever for the team.

The Irons need to raise £150 million this summer, with significant player sales expected. Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville are among the names expected to leave West Ham, with others such as Valentin Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos also in the shop window.

Nuno Espirito Santo has committed his future to the club next season, but his task of rebuilding is on hold whilst changes occur throughout the side, with things not only moving in the playing squad but also at boardroom level.

Paco Jemez hints at U-turn in West Ham future

Paco Jemez joined West Ham coaching staff in January, and was a huge part of why the Hammers had a chance to stay up, making an impact throughout the squad, especially in defensive areas.

With Nuno staying, there was hope that Jemez would follow suit, but the Spanish coach appeared to post a farewell message on social media. Despite this seeming exit, there was hope for Irons, as the coach told a Spanish radio show that he and Nuno had spoken on the phone, with the latter proposing he stay.

Now, Jemez has appeared to confirm the call, and that he might stay, in a new post on social media.

West Ham fans will hope this is true given the impact Jemez has had. The introduction of the coach was the turning point in the Hammers season, with him being an integral part of Nuno’s staff, something that simply has to continue into next season.
