- West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen misses out on England’s World Cup squad
- The Hammers captain had hoped to make the 26-man squad
- Bowen joins a number of high profile names to miss out
West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen has officially been left out of England’s 2026 World Cup squad. The Hammers captain had dreamt of going to this summer’s tournament but Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel has chosen not to select the 29-year-old.
Reported by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook last night, the news of Bowen’s exclusion was confirmed this morning with the official England squad announcement.
Bowen has had a below par year in terms of his standards and yet, sits second in goal involvements for an Englishman in the Premier League this season. The 29-year-old is only behind Morgan Gibbs-White in the rankings, who is another big name to be left out of the 26-man squad.
The pair join Phil Foden, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Hall, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cole Palmer as the big names to be left out of the England squad this summer.
West Ham may have other things on their mind but Bowen is not the only Hammer to miss out on this summer’s tournament. Mateus Fernandes, who made his Portugal debut earlier this summer, is not included in their squad.
El Hadji Malick Diouf, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tomas Soucek are the three confirmed Irons to make the trip North America for the World Cup.
