West Ham have held talks over signing former Rangers captain James Tavernier on a free transfer.
The transfer possibility depends on Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaving the London Stadium this summer.
TEAMtalk reports that West Ham have spoken about a possible move for the 34-year-old. However, the club are not expected to pursue another right-back while Wan-Bissaka remains in Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.
Tavernier is considering his options after leaving Rangers. Charlotte FC currently lead the race, while Newcastle United, Everton and Aston Villa have also explored his situation. Burnley and Derby County have spoken to his representatives.
No final decision has been made. Charlotte’s position could force West Ham to resolve Wan-Bissaka’s future quickly if they want to remain in contention.
ReadWestHam recently reported that West Ham rejected a low offer for Wan-Bissaka. Lazio reportedly offered around €10million, while the Hammers were seeking approximately £25million.
