West Ham Interested In Callejon

West Ham are interested in signing Napoli star forward Jose Callejon this summer, according to Calciomercato.

The Spanish international can play on either wing, as well as behind the main striker, and has been heavily impressive since signing for Napoli from Real Madrid two seasons ago, scoring 26 goals and assisting 12 times in 75 Serie A appearances.

However, since Rafa Benitez left the club to assume leadership at Real Madrid, Callejon’s future has been cast into doubt, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all looking to bring in the winger.

Chelsea are reported to have offered €22m for Callejon already this summer in a bid to sign the player, but the offer was turned down.

Corriere dello Sport have also reported that the 28-year-old could yet stay in italy – something that was deemed highly unlikely earlier in the summer.

West Ham are keen to add a winger to the team following the departure of Stewart Downing earlier this month, as a bid for Kevin Mirallas continues to stall.
