West Ham have been informed that they will need to stump up £7m if they wish to sign Stoke midfielder Steven N’Zonzi this summer, according to the Express & Star.
It was reported earlier this summer that West Ham were considering a move for the player to help add strength and depth to the midfield.
The Hammers, as well as Leicester City, West Brom and Aston Villa have all been considering a move for the former France U21 international, who only has one year left on his current contract at the Britannia.
The Potters have already turned down a ‘derisory’ £3m offer from La Liga outfit Sevilla for the 26-year-old, with Unai Emery still very interested in bringing the combative midfielder to Spain.
N’Zonzi’s departure is looking all the more likely as Stoke have already lined up his successor, as Udinese holding midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is close to joining the club this summer, and would be a like-for-like replacement.
