West Ham have held ‘preliminary discussions’ with Marcelo Bielsa about becoming the club’s next manager, according to Goal.
The Marseille manager is one of several recurring names being touted as Sam Allardyce’s replacement after the club confirmed last week he would be leaving after four years in charge.
Talks between the Hammers and Bielsa were positive, however several board members are questioning him as a viable option, due to the fact he cannot speak great English.
Having missed out on Carlo Ancelotti, Jurgen Klopp and Rafa Benitez, West Ham’s once long list of managerial candidates is growing shorter by the day it seems.
Slaven Bilic and Unai Emery remain firmly in the conversation, along with Bielsa, who’s also reportedly talking with Marseille about signing a two-year contract extension.
