West Ham have contacted the agent of free agent defender Joseph Yobo over a possible move to the club until the end of the season, according to reports in Nigeria.
The Hammers are scouring the free agent market for one or two additions on short-term contracts until the end of the season, ahving missed out on no more than eight deadline day transfer targets.
Short of cover at the back, with a number of injuries too, West Ham tried to sign QPR’s Steven Caulker, Tottenham’s Younes Kaboul and Everton’s Sylvain Distin at some point on deadline day, but failed to get any deal across the line, and the same goes for a loan move for Marseille defender Doria.
The former Everton and Norwich defender would be keen on a move to West Ham on a short-term basis having been out of work since the end of last season since his deal with Fenerbahce expired..
West Ham also have Marcus Nilsson on trial at the moment, but have yet to offer him a contract, and are still weighing up a move for Lassana Diarra, who has been training at the club for the past few weeks.
