West Ham United face a significantly more difficult task if they revive their interest in Fluminense midfielder Martinelli.
The Hammers made an approach for the Brazilian earlier in 2026, but Fluminense rejected offers worth around €12-13million for one of their most important players.
Since then, Martinelli has signed a new contract until 2030 and earned his first senior Brazil call-up.
Fluminense Rejected West Ham Martinelli Bid
Brazilian outlet Ge previously reported that West Ham, Besiktas, Olympiacos and clubs from Saudi Arabia all submitted offers around the €12m mark.
Fluminense refused to open negotiations.
The 24-year-old subsequently signed a new deal until December 2030, significantly strengthening the Brazilian club’s position.
His status has risen further this month.
Martinelli received his first senior Brazil call-up after being added to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad during the international break.
No Fresh West Ham Bid Yet
West Ham Zone have highlighted how Martinelli’s growing reputation could now make him considerably more expensive if Fluminense eventually sanction a sale. (westhamzone.com)
However, there is currently no report of West Ham submitting another offer.
Ge reported earlier this month that Fluminense had received no new approach matching their expectations during the recently closed Brazilian window.
West Ham’s previous interest remains significant, but Martinelli’s new contract and Brazil breakthrough mean the conditions surrounding any future move have changed substantially.
