Manor Solomon Reaches 50 Israel Caps as West Ham Winger Starts vs Austria

West Ham United winger Manor Solomon has reached a major international milestone after making his 50th senior appearance for Israel.

Solomon was named in the starting XI for Israel’s UEFA Nations League clash against Austria in Linz on Thursday night, taking him to a half-century of senior international caps.

The 27-year-old started in the No.10 shirt as part of Israel’s attacking line behind striker Sayed Abu Farhi.

It marks another significant moment for Solomon only months after completing his move to West Ham.

Manor Solomon Reaches 50 Israel Appearances

West Ham had confirmed before the international break that Solomon travelled away with 49 senior caps to his name.

His inclusion in Israel’s starting XI against Austria therefore takes him to 50 appearances for his country.

Solomon made his senior international debut against Albania in the UEFA Nations League in September 2018.

He had scored eight goals for Israel heading into the current international window, with his most recent international goal coming against Moldova during World Cup qualifying in September 2025.

West Ham also highlighted Solomon’s approaching landmark when confirming his selection for Israel’s Nations League squad.

The winger has since been handed an immediate start for the opening fixture of the new campaign.

Solomon Already Making West Ham Impact

Solomon joined West Ham from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer and has quickly become an important attacking option for Nuno Espírito Santo.

He has scored twice in his first nine appearances for the Hammers.

His first arrived on his West Ham debut away at Burnley on the opening weekend of the Championship season.

Solomon then found the net again in the 6-0 victory over Wrexham at London Stadium earlier this month.

His international workload is being followed throughout the break in our West Ham international break tracker, alongside Mads Hermansen, Dinos Mavropanos and the club’s youth internationals.

Busy International Break for Solomon

The Austria fixture is only the first of four scheduled Nations League matches for Israel before West Ham return to Championship action.

Israel are due to face the Republic of Ireland on Sunday 27 September before meeting Kosovo on Thursday 1 October.

Their final fixture of the window comes against the Republic of Ireland again on Sunday 4 October.

West Ham then return to domestic action against Queens Park Rangers at London Stadium on Friday 9 October.

Full details of that fixture are available in our West Ham vs QPR TV channel and live stream guide.

Solomon’s attention for now remains on international duty, with his start against Austria securing the landmark 50th senior cap of his Israel career.

Solomon Reacts After Israel Defeat

Manor Solomon has admitted he wanted more from his own performance after his landmark 50th Israel appearance ended in a 3-1 defeat against Austria.

Israel were level at 1-1 before being reduced to ten players following Sayed Abu Farhi’s second yellow card.

Austria then scored twice late on to secure all three points.

Speaking after the match to Israeli outlet ONE, Solomon acknowledged that Israel need to address a recurring problem of conceding late goals.

The West Ham winger said: “I can be much better than tonight.”

Solomon added that Israel would analyse the match and look at both individual and collective mistakes before their next Nations League fixture.

The 27-year-old started the game and played 73 minutes before being replaced, having reached the milestone of 50 senior appearances for his country.

West Ham’s official international round-up confirmed Solomon left the pitch while the score was still level, before Austria struck twice late on.

Solomon Turns Attention to Republic of Ireland

There is little recovery time for the West Ham attacker.

Israel face the Republic of Ireland on Sunday 27 September at 7.45pm BST in their second Nations League fixture of the international window.

Solomon indicated that the squad will review the Austria defeat before turning its attention towards Sunday’s game.

The winger is scheduled for four international fixtures before returning to West Ham ahead of the Championship restart.

Every appearance and fitness development involving Nuno Espírito Santo’s players is being followed in our West Ham international break tracker.

West Ham then return to club action against Queens Park Rangers on Friday 9 October, with the latest schedule available in our West Ham next five fixtures guide.
