Nuno Espírito Santo has strongly suggested West Ham United are not finished in the transfer market, admitting the timing of the club’s summer business has been “not perfect” with the deadline rapidly approaching.
West Ham completed the signing of Edvin Austbø on Monday, but the Hammers are still pursuing further additions before Tuesday night’s deadline.
Speaking ahead of the Wolves clash, Nuno revealed that he still expects players to arrive.
“We still have two days to go, we have players coming in, so we are building,” he said.
Nuno hints more West Ham signings are coming
Nuno admitted West Ham would ideally have completed their business earlier.
“The transfer window was not perfect about the timing,” he added, explaining that the club had remained patient while identifying its preferred targets.
West Ham have already completed the £10m signing of Austbø, but defensive reinforcements remain a priority.
The Hammers have opened talks with Nottingham Forest over Morato, while Guardian reporter Jacob Steinberg says any further additions are likely to arrive on loan.
With West Ham still trying to balance Nuno’s squad, his latest comments suggest Austbø will not be the final new face through the London Stadium door.
