West Ham United have completed the signing of Edvin Austbø from Viking, finally landing one of Nuno Espírito Santo’s leading attacking targets after a lengthy pursuit.
The Hammers initially saw an offer worth around £8million rejected earlier this month before returning to negotiations and reaching an agreement with the Norwegian champions.
The Guardian reports that West Ham have now announced Austbø’s arrival in a deal worth around £10m.
Austbo gives Nuno explosive West Ham weapon
The 21-year-old arrives with a reputation as a direct and exciting wide attacker.
UEFA describes Austbø as a winger who combines elusive dribbling with the ability to create and finish, having registered six goals and seven assists during Viking’s title-winning 2025 campaign.
West Ham had already agreed terms with Viking and brought Austbø to London for his medical, making official confirmation the final step.
His arrival gives Nuno another option alongside Jarrod Bowen and Manor Solomon at a time when West Ham have struggled to consistently threaten Championship defences.
And the recruitment drive is not finished.
The Hammers are also refusing to give up on Mikel Gogorza after two rejected offers, with a third proposal being prepared for the Midtjylland winger.
Austbø, however, is safely through the door.
After weeks of negotiations, Nuno finally has the explosive wide option West Ham have been chasing.
