West Ham ready to meet €30m asking price for 51-goal striker

West Ham are reportedly prepared to meet AZ Alkmaar’s asking price for Troy Parrott as Nuno Espírito Santo steps up his search for a new striker.

The latest update places the Hammers in a strong position to sign the Republic of Ireland international.

Parrott has attracted significant interest following another prolific season in the Netherlands, but West Ham are now emerging as serious contenders.

AD Sportwereld reports that the Hammers currently have the best chance of completing a deal and are willing to meet AZ’s valuation of around €30million.

West Ham step up Troy Parrott transfer pursuit

West Ham have been linked with Parrott before, but their willingness to pay AZ’s asking price would represent a significant development.

The Dutch club are in a strong negotiating position after Parrott scored 16 Eredivisie goals last season. The 24-year-old remains under contract and has developed into one of the division’s leading forwards.

TalkSPORT recently reported that Parrott has scored 51 goals in 95 appearances during his two seasons with AZ, form which has attracted interest from several European clubs.

However, AD Sportwereld claims financial demands could narrow the competition significantly.

Porto are reportedly the only other interested club considered capable of meeting AZ’s €30m asking price, leaving West Ham in a strong position if they decide to proceed.

A new striker remains important for Nuno.

ReadWestHam previously highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the club’s centre-forward options, with Niclas Füllkrug’s future unclear and Callum Wilson having already departed.

Parrott would offer a younger long-term option with significant senior experience despite being only 24.

West Ham still need to turn their willingness to pay into a formal agreement with AZ, but the latest report suggests they are now among the strongest contenders for his signature.
