West Ham United are bracing themselves for a number of departures this summer. The Hammers need to raise £150 million this summer and know that means a significant number of player sales.

Nuno Espirito Santo has committed himself to West Ham in the coming season, but the former Wolverhampton Wanderers is a long way off building the Championship promotion chasing side he wants to put together.

The sales of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville are expected to make up much of the £150 million needed but the Irons could lose up to nine players this window. The likes Konsantinos Mavropanos, Valentin Castellanos and club captain Jarrod Bowen are also among those that could leave.

Tomas Soucek coy on his West Ham future

West Ham stalwart Tomas Soucek is preparing for the World Cup with his nation Czechia. The 31-year-old will represent his nation in their first World tournament in 20 years.

When asked about his Hammers future, the midfielder remained coy on whether or not he would stay, instead saying he was focused on the World Cup over everything else.

“I’m sorry, but now I’m fully focused on the World Cup. My full readiness is for these games, and what will happen will only be after vacation. I have a clear head for a month, focused on the national team. It’s probably not the answer you wanted to hear.”

The long-term Iron has been with the club since 2020 and there is optimism he will remain at the club. A return home is available, but many think Soucek will stay to help West Ham try and get promoted.
