West Ham United travel to Lincoln City on Wednesday evening as they look to get back to winning ways in the Championship.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have made a strong start to life in the Championship, but recent results have slowed their progress ahead of the trip to LNER Stadium.
The Hammers currently occupy third place after nine league games in the Championship table, having scored 23 goals. Lincoln sit 16th, with seven goals scored in their nine matches.
The hosts will be keen to respond after a disappointing 3-0 loss to Sheffield United, while West Ham need a positive result after a three-game winless streak continues in all competitions.
West Ham predicted lineup vs Lincoln City
West Ham United could make use of their available options as they look to secure three points on the road. Tomas Soucek is fit again and back in the starting line-up, while Mohamadou Kante has also completed his suspension. Keiber Lamadrid is the only confirmed absentee for West Ham.
Jarrod Bowen is expected to feature in the attacking line, having remained a key player for the Hammers this season. He scored against QPR and leads the club’s Championship charts with 5 goals, followed by Konstantinos Mavropanos with 4 goals in 9 games.
The predicted XI also includes several options across the forward line, with Bowen joined by Jairo Piroe, Manor Solomon and Valentin Castellanos. In midfield, West Ham are expected to stick with Mukasa and Engels, while the backline is expected to feature Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman and Morato, with Hermansen in goal.
Predicted West Ham starting XI (4-2-3-1):
Hermansen; Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman, Morato; Mukasa, Engels; Bowen, Piroe, Solomon; Castellanos.
West Ham need a response
West Ham have enjoyed a productive start to their Championship campaign, but their recent run has put the focus on Wednesday’s fixture. Three consecutive matches without a win in all competitions mean the visitors will be eager to return to winning ways.
Bowen’s goalscoring form could prove important as West Ham prepare to face a Lincoln side sitting in the bottom half of the table. With Soucek available again and Kante returning from suspension, the Hammers have additional options to consider.
The trip to LNER Stadium gives West Ham an opportunity to get their campaign moving in the right direction again. They’ll hope the predicted starting XI can deliver the result needed to keep them firmly in the promotion picture.
