Rumoured West Ham target Josh Dasilva gave a promising account of himself against Premier League opposition once again this week despite Brentford exiting the Carabao Cup.

Having been linked with a move for the 22-year-old in January, Hammers fans may have been keeping one eye on the central midfielder as the Championship outfit went up against Tottenham in the semi-finals of the cup competition.

Dasilva put in an impressive display prior to the moment which saw the youngster dismissed for a high and not particularly handsome tackle on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

That moment aside, the rising star, who has eight goal contributions already this season from 27 matches, was rather impressive. As per Sofascore, he misplaced just one of his 28 passes during his 84-minute display, a 96% success rate.

Dasilva had been at the heart of Brentford’s cup run, during which they have seen off four Premier League sides, further enhancing the midfielder’s possible top-flight credentials.

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

The sending off aside, this was an audition of a player destined for the Premier League, whether that be for perennial play-off hopefuls Brentford or with a move to an interested club such as West Ham.

His ability to get out of tight spots when put under pressure by a full-strength Spurs side and pick the right pass almost every time, more often than not with attacking intent, will have definitely impressed potential suitors – hopefully, David Moyes is chief among that category.
