Tomas Soucek has made his ambitions clear after signing a new contract with West Ham United. The Czech midfielder wants to play a major role in helping the Hammers return to the Premier League after making an impressive comeback from injury.
Thomas Soucek marked the occasion in style against Lincoln City on Wednesday. Having agreed fresh terms with the club a day earlier, he came off the bench to score twice in West Ham’s 6-0 victory. It was only his second appearance of the season after an ankle injury suffered at the World Cup kept him out for nearly four months.
He also featured late in the game for West Ham against a close 1-0 win over Swansea that took them to second in the Championship.

Speaking to BBC Radio London, the midfielder explained how much the club and its supporters mean to him. His return to the scoresheet made an already special week even better.
“I’m as happy as I can be, because I signed a new contract with West Ham and since I came here everything has suited so well and the connection is between me and the club and fans,” Soucek said.
The performance has given him fresh motivation following a difficult spell away from action.
“And to score these two goals is massive for me. This performance also gives me the motivation and ambition for all the hard work I have done, because I missed nearly four months since the injury.”
Soucek wants West Ham back to the Premier League
The 31-year-old has spent several years playing in the Premier League and now wants to help West Ham secure an immediate return to the top flight.
“I scored for many years in the Premier League and the goal is to go straight back, and I want to be a big part of the team.”
Soucek also spoke about his relationship with the West Ham supporters, making it clear that their backing remains a major part of his connection with the club.
“My connection with them (the fans) is unbelievable and I wanted to deliver for them. This is my home now.”
His two-goal display against Lincoln was a boost after months out injured. With his contract situation settled, Soucek can now focus on helping West Ham returning to the Premier League.
