Genk reject Sheffield United’s Berge bid
Genk have turned down an offer from Sheffield United for their promising midfield star and West Ham target Sander Berge.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail revealed West Ham were considering a move for the 21-year-old in the winter transfer window.
Now, according to the same publication, the Hammers’ Premier League rivals have failed in their attempt to snap Berge up as the transfer deadline begins to loom.
Despite David Moyes’ interest in Berge, the report made no suggestion that a move for his services would be made in the minimal time that’s left to do business.

The Norway international has racked up plenty of experience already, making 113 appearances for Genk since joining from Valerenga in 2017.
With 20 caps for his national team also under his belt and after playing a central role in Genk’s Belgian First Division triumph last season, he could bring a long-term winning mentality to the club.
We believe it’s unlikely he’ll be allowed to leave this month, but Czech Republic international Tomas Soucek, set for a medical, looks set to be West Ham’s answer to their current midfield woes.
Berge wouldn’t have played the number of senior games as he has already if he wasn’t a top prospect though, so the Hammers would probably be smart to keep tabs on his availability.
