  • West Ham will have five players at the World Cup
  • Almost all of them are available for transfer
  • The Hammers need to raise £150 million this summer

West Ham United may have been relegated from the Premier League but they will still have five stars feature at the World Cup. Given the Hammers situation, for most it will be a shop window that could help the Irons make it to the £150 million they need a lot quicker.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – DR Congo

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will feature at the World Cup after playing a huge part in getting the DR Congo to the tournament.

The defender did not have a great season, but is expected to remain in the top flight, with David Moyes and Everton interested in taking the player from West Ham.

El Hadji Malick Diouf – Senegal

El Hadji Malick Diouf will represent Senegal at the World Cup. Diouf did not have a bad time in his first season with the Irons but is another who looks likely to move on this summer.

Everton are again interested, with David Moyes having the full-back on his radar prior to him signing for the Hammers.

Tomas Soucek – Czechia

One of the only players who may not leave West Ham after the World Cup, Tomas Soucek will represent Czechia at the tournament.

The 31-year-old has been an ever-present at the London Stadium and there is hope he will stay and attempt to lead the club back to the Premier League.

Crysencio Summerville – Netherlands

Crysencio Summerville will head to the tournament with the Netherlands. The winger made his debut for the nation last night and is set to have a big role with Tottenham Hotspur’s Xavi Simons missing out throuhg injury.

It is hoped that Summerville, alongside Mateus Fernandes, will be the two biggest sales for the Hammers this summer. The hope is that the 24-year-old will perform well in North America, only driving his price up.

Edson Alvarez – Mexico

Edson Alvarez will represent Mexico at the World Cup. The midfielder spent the season on-loan with Fenerbahce but spent a lot of time injured. He has recovered just in time to make the tournament.

The Turkish club chose not to make Alvarez move permanent, but he will leave West Ham regardless, even if it is below what they would like to receive for the player.

matchday.
