West Ham tie Lanzini down to permanent deal

Manuel Lanzini has signed a four-year deal with West Ham United.

The 23-year-old completed the move from UAE side Al Jazira to East London. West Ham have, as reported by The Guardian , paid £9million for the Argentinian.

The news was reported by son of co-owner David Sullivan, Jack Sullivan:

Some fans were worried that Lanzini wouldn’t join West Ham, with reported interest of Liverpool, but they needn’t have been.

Before offering him a permanent contract, the club wanted to assess his injury situation further, to prevent themselves buying an injury prone player as they have done in the past.

Having signed for the Irons, he is the third major asset to increase time at Chadwell Heath, preceded by both Dimitri Payet and Chiekhou Kouyate.

Now Lanzini, nicknamed ‘The Jewel’, has signed for West Ham, a more secure and well-funded future lies ahead for the East London side.

As West Ham were battering the Chelsea defence last Saturday, fans displayed their affection for the attacking midfielder, praising him with his own chant:
