West Ham have been told by PSG that they will need to pay around £21m this summer if they wish to sign midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Hammers held talks with his agent and mother, Veronqiue, at Paris’ Charles De Gaulle airport over a possible move to Upton Park this summer.
The 20-year-old intends to leave PSG for regular first-team football, despite playing in 29 games for the clubs last season, claims his mother.
“Adrien loves and is attached to PSG, it is the club of his heart. He wants to have a career here. But it’s not possible.” she said.
“Are PSG trying to tarnish Adrien because we have asked for a transfer?
“If Adrien leaves PSG, he is not leaving for the sake of leaving, he is leaving in order to play.“
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Juventus and Roma have all been linked with moves for the France U21 international, who is rated as one of the best young talented in European football.
