West Ham Scouts Watch Mbodj

West Ham sent scouts to watch Kara Mbodj on Wednesday as Genk took on Charlton, according to the Daily Mail.

Newcastle United and Everton are also mentioned as clubs that watched the Senegalese defender, who is believed to be available for just £5m this summer.

The Hammers first tried to sign the 25-year-old centre-back back in the Winter transfer window, and believed they had wrapped up a £4m move for the player on Deadline Day, only for it to fall through in dramatic fashion, along with several other deals.

Since then, West Ham have continued to keep tabs on the athletic defender as they are keeping their options open in relation to signing a new defender this summer, despite bringing in £7m man Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus earlier this month.

Mbodj’s agent, Mark McKay, has confirmed that there is serious interest in his client amid Premier League rumours.

‘’There is plenty of interest in Kara. He’s big, powerful but composed too. He’d be an asset to any Premier League side and he’s keen to test himself in England.’’ he told the Daily Mail.
