Newly signed West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang is making an effort to convince striker Mattia Destro to come and join him at Upton Park this summer.
Speaking with Tuttomercato, the Spanish midfielder, who has spent all of his professional career playing in Serie A with Sampdoria, believes that the Roma striker would be a welcome addition to Upton Park.
“[Destro] would be welcome. He could help us. In fact, you know that I do?“.
“I give you the title for my interview: Destro invitation to come and play at West Ham.“
“Yes, at West Ham would find a better reality than he imagines.“
The 24-year-old striker has 29 goals in 69 games for Roma, but is now deemed surplus to requirements and is expected to leave the club this summer, either on loan or on a permanent deal.
Yesterday, Roma’s Director of Football, Walter Sabatini, flew to London to negotiate deals with several Premier League clubs, including a possible loan move for Mattia Destro to Upton Park.
Obiang also spoke glowingly of another former Serie A boy and new West Ham defender, Angelo Ogbonna, who signed for £7m from Juventus.
“He has quality. Juve did not have the space they wanted, West Ham, however, is by no means a small club: here have great ideas to market, the philosophy is positive. And the reality of West Ham is really beautiful. “
