West Ham have reignited their interest in Liverpool striker Fabio Borini as several other deals stall, reports the Telegraph.
The 24-year-old striker is buried down the ranks at Liverpool, behind the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli, Danny Ings, Rickie Lambert, Divock Origi and imminent summer signing Christian Benteke, and looks set to be sold this summer.
In two full seasons with Liverpool, he’s scored two league goals in 25 league appearances, three in 38 in all competitions, but he did shine on loan at Sunderland in 2013/14, scoring 10 in 40 in all competitions.
West Ham tried to take him on loan at the start of last season, only for Borini to reject the move, but with options becoming scarce for the Italian international, he will reportedly consider a loan switch to Upton Park.
Liverpool are said to be desperate to offload the forward in any capacity, and have re-offered the player to the Hammers, amid their search for addition depth in the position.
The club are in ongoing discussions with several potential striker signings. Walter Sabatini has flown to London to persuade West Ham to take another Italian, Mattia Destro, on loan, while Manchester United have hinted that Javier Hernandez could feature for the club, despite ongoing speculation of a £9m move to East London.
A move for Fernando Llorente is also not ruled out.
