Rumour: Irons Consider Lavezzi Move

It doesn’t happen too often for Hammers fans when there is an air of excitement of anticipation for a new season to start, with new managers, ex-captains filling roles in the background staff and fresh faces joining up with a promising foundation of a squad; and now the latest rumour to be thrown into the mill is none other than Argentine international, Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Rumours circulating are suggesting that West Ham are considering a €20m move for the forward. We can only hope this is true with the 30-year-old reportedly suggesting that he is intrigued with ambitious project West Ham are embarking on.

The striker has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain with clubs such as Liverpool and recently London rivals Spurs, but there’s a food for thought when a player of his magnitude is linked with an upcoming club like West Ham suggesting that we would be willing to put up a sum in region of €20m to gain the forward’s signature this summer.

Lavezzi has had a 3 season spell for the Ligue 1 Champions scoring on 32 occasions during this time. The player has already expressed his willingness to move this summer and has hinted at a move to England.

A rumour like this, no matter the source or sincerity behind it, shows what kind of direction the board are taking the club, the drive they have and the vision of what we could become. All these factors are being noticed around the world, which needs to be met with the same determination from the squad. With Bilic in place and a firm leader in Julian Dicks by his side, I can see passion and belief from the management side of the club which hasn’t been shown in recent years and its part of a winning mentality that the squad desperately needs.
