West Ham are lining up a move for Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff, according a report in HITC.
The 28-year-old is expected to be released by the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The French international was once lauded as the ‘next Zinedine Zidane’, but he has never quite lived up to his potential.
He’s contributed towards eight goals, three goals and five assists, in his 19 appearances this term for Lyon, and is perennially linked with a move to Arsenal.
West Ham are lacking a proper attacking midfielder, having let go of Ravel Morrison earlier this year. Gourcuff could be the dynamic playmaker we so desperately need.
